355 ICT specialists upgraded their ICT professional skills in Latvia

In 2020, Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association (LIKTA), in cooperation with Latvian IT Cluster, launched project No 1.2.2.1/19/A/005 “Partnership-based training of ICT professionals for Innovation and Industry development.”

Objective of the project: To increase the qualification of employed ICT professionals through training, promoting the introduction of technological innovations and increasing productivity, thus contributing to the increase in the number of innovative companies, the increase in the share of exports in the ICT sector and the growth of the ICT sector.

In order to achieve project objective, LIKTA, in cooperation with Latvian IT Cluster, plan to train at least 1 578 ICT professionals in various training programmes by 31 December 2023.

So far, 30 companies have already been actively involved in the implementation of the project, increasing the qualifications of their employees in face-to-face and online courses in areas such as computer systems, databases and computer networks, project management, marketing, as well as business management.

By the end of March, more than 100 training courses have taken place. 355 ICT professionals have already developed their knowledge in face-to-face and online courses, 39 of which have increased their expertise in business management and marketing and commerce.
