First ‘Computer Science Week Conference’ held in Ireland

Ireland’s first ever Computer Science Week National Conference was held on the 13th of October 2022, gathering school leaders, teachers, guidance counsellors, parents, representatives from industry and all education stakeholders. The event was organised by PDST Technology in Ireland, opened by Minister for Education Norma Foley TD and saw the launch of a new dedicated website for Computer Science for students, parents and schools to learn more about the subject.

PDST Technology in Ireland is a dedicated support service aimed at enhancing technology integration and computer science education in Irish schools. As part of the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST), it provides resources, training, and guidance to educators, school leaders, and stakeholders. Their focus spans from empowering teachers with innovative teaching methods to facilitating the adoption of digital technologies in the classroom. PDST Technology plays a pivotal role in advancing the proficiency of both educators and students in leveraging technology for learning and skill development, ultimately contributing to a more tech-literate and future-ready generation in Ireland.
